Music scene in Scotland for the most part has always been about Glasgow and Edinburgh in the recent years, there has been a growth of home grown talent in remote parts of Scotland. This has paralleled the leap in modern technology that now allows bands to a website named MySpace is also promoting the hidden talent across the country by letting the bands share their creations, make new fans and step up another rung on the ladder.

PULSE Recording Studio is currently filling a vacuum in the Ayrshire music scene, with a fully professional recording studio available for hire.

The Darvel music festival which attracts a whole community of talented nationally as well as internationally has entered into a partnership work with PULSE-CD compilation. There are also some small scale projects such as the Young Scot overload team in North Ayrshire aimed at stimulating live music for young people.

A partnership is also to be built with Wrecked Chord Records (Ayrshire label aimed at developing local talent). They host Acoustic open Mic nights on the first Monday of every month inviting bands/artists from all over Ayrshire and beyond to perform and share their music.

A variety of Homecoming 2009 events will take place throughout the year all over Scotland, but what better way to mark the birth of our most famous poet than by taking a trip to his birthplace, Ayrshire. The Homecoming Scotland celebrations will officially get under way on Burns’ birthday, January 25th. Plan your trip to coincide with this and you can enjoy your traditional Burns supper of haggis, neeps and tatties, followed by the obligatory dram in the footsteps of the bard. For those travellers who prefer to wait until spring to visit Ayrshire, the month of May holds another major celebration of the area’s most famous literary son.
